Preparing records for a secure application review

Good preparation reduces both review time and unnecessary exposure of personal information. The principle is simple: send what supports the agreed question, through the agreed route.

First, settle the scope

Do not email a full medical file when the work is limited to income evidence. Do not send bank statements through a public website form. Confirm who the reviewer is, what records are needed, who will receive the report, and how long working copies are kept.

Make the set readable

Provide the near-final application rather than several unnamed drafts. Name supporting files by type and period, not with a vague sequence such as “scan1”. If a page is intentionally excluded, say so; otherwise it may look missing.

Remove unrelated material carefully

Redaction can reduce exposure, but it must not remove context needed for the agreed comparison. Ask before redacting transaction descriptions, dates, or document headers that establish the period or source.

Keep your own copy of exactly what was handed over. When the review closes, record which corrected version was ultimately submitted to the insurer.
